It's not an ego thing. it's not a problem with their program design, it's an inevitable factor that happens in everybody's program.

[Personal Trainer] There's two ways to overcome training plateaus. Trial and error, on the other hand, the hiring of a professional trainer to help you overcome them. On the trial and error side, everybody is able to do it, but it could take weeks, months, sometimes even years to make up for progress that you could have made in literally half the time with a trainer. A trainer is very very very well-versed in designing programs to eliminate these plateaus and overcome them as they may arise. They have the advantage is that they've worked with people from all walks of life, experienced all types of training plateaus and have successfully designed programs to overcome them.
