How To Measure Your Body For Modeling
How To Measure Your Body For Modeling
Including measurements of your body and muscles is important to include when submitting for auditions because measurements "fill in the blanks." Snapshots can fool casting directors and not tell your true "size." Measurements give details your snapshots don't tell.
You can either measure your body parts with a fabric measuring tape or by using a string or long shoelace combined with a tape measurer.
Start by measuring your bicep. Wrap the string or shoelace around your flexed bicep. Hold onto the spot in the string that meets the end with your thumb and forefinger. Now lay the string flat on a desk, holding onto this point on the string. Now measure the string using a ruler or tape measurer. This gives your bicep dimension.
You can do the same for your chest, waist, etc.
