Double Kettlebell Snatch


Differentiation: Mechanics

This variation of a snatch is unique. Here is how: you use two kettlebells simultaneously. Using two kettlebells allows you to work each side of your body simultaneously | and each arm lifts the same amount of weight. Also, you must control the Kettlebells.


Starting Position

To get into starting position, do this...

1) Obtain two kettlebells.

2) Locate an area of the gym with ample floor space to perform the exercise.

3) Place the two kettlebells on the floor about a foot apart.

4) Stand upright with the kettlebells between your feet.

5) Place your feet shoulder-width apart.

6) Squat to lower your torso and grasp a kettlebell in each hand, palms facing downward.

7) Raise the kettlebells to thigh level.

8) Bend your knees and bring the kettlebells back between your legs.

Main Mechanics

Once in starting position, do this...

1) This is the starting position.

2) Exhale while you lift and swing the kettlebells up in one continuous motion

3) ...until they are over your head.

4) Hold this position for a count of one second.

5) This is the ending position.

6) Then, inhale while you swing the kettlebells downward between your legs.

It's important to keep your back and neck straight during this movement and avoid arching your back.
