Ecuador Sightseeing And Carnival
When I made my way out of that room with great resistance I didn't see my boy JDR anywhere. Our Host who had been keeping track of our every move told me he was in the VIP getting a dance from his replacement babe. He emerged with a smile on his face and we had to laugh since we knew what the other had just endured. We sat down and had one last round before we decided to cash out. We ended up dropping $252.00 in there, but that was for all drinks and private dances, a little steep, but it was memorable.
Day 2
Ecuador sightseeing
We got up Thursday and decided to do a little sight-seeing. I wanted to check out Old Town and maybe pick up some souvenirs. We grabbed the first taxi we saw by the front door and took off. On our way we saw this huge statue on top of a mountain so we instructed out Driver to go up there so we could check it out. It took a while for us to get up there since the road was curvy and steep and as we got close to the top it turned to cobblestone. The view from up there was spectacular so I shot video as we made our climb. The buildings looked at least a century old and there were a lot of shops that had men making cabinets and furniture.
The statue was of the Virgin Mary and it was on top of El Panecillo. We got a bunch of shots from all angles and I shot some video up there also. The souvenirs were really cheap so we loaded up on them before heading back down the mountain.
Our Driver took us to Ciudad Antigua or Old Town and it looked like no one went to work that day. People were all over the place and once we parked at the town square we saw thousands of people running around taking part in some festival for Carnival. I was busy taking pictures and shooting video and wasn't paying too much attention to everyone running around spraying foam from cans on each other. No one was flashing any boobies so that was a little disappointing. There were several bands there playing and young men on horseback dressed in traditional garb. I decided to pose for a picture next to one of the guys on horseback when I felt a cold wet substance being sprayed all over the back of my head and neck. No one in the square was off limits so the locals jumped on me and JDR. He took off running but I stood there and laughed as I got sprayed by a few girls and guys armed with several cans of this soapy substance,
