Inside This Video

In this video, created one summer by an NYU student and his roommate, a guy runs in to a series of problems causing him to be late to class.  Only, in the end he finds out that it's Sunday, and obviously there is no class on Sunday.  The Video is shot with an old thyme feel, from the music to the footage.

What we like about this Video

-There were some really cool effects in this one.  The sparks coming out of the swipe machine in the subway, and the birds in the end were especially cool.

-The video does a nice job of having a simple narrative without containing any dialogue.

Maybe Next time.

-I understand the choice to use the old thyme video feature, but it just made the footage appear too damaged.  It was difficult to see many of the shots.

-The video ended in the middle of the song.  Next time try to make the song end at the same time, or at least fade it out.

Two students from SUNY Cobleskill dance around their dorm in afros to the song "Barbie Girl."  They receive mixed reactions...

What we like about this Video

-At least they started by having some girls in the video.  And they seemed kind of interested?

-The last guy they went to wanted nothing to do with them.  That was funny.  Good choice, guy.

Maybe Next time.

-Pick a better song?

-Or just a better idea?

-While they were having fun, nobody else seemed to be.

Inside This Video

In this parody of your average college commercial, a student is accepted into Daybreak College.  A song plays throughout the entire video, as the student travels around the campus with a huge smile on his face.  Along the way he encounters some funny situations that demonstrate that Daybreak College may not be as wonderful as they want you to think.

What we like about this Video

-As Leslie Nielsen will tell you, sometimes you just need a good parody.

-Song lyric:  "Daybreak College, making sure everything's broken!"

-Slow motion in a short comedic video rarely fails, as demonstrated here.

Maybe Next time.

-The song was funny, but really just repeated the same few lyrics.  Some additional funny lines would have been appreciated.

-We saw a lot of him in the classroom.  How about a dorm or dining hall?  Lots of good opportunities missed.
