Normally called camps or mini camps. Sometimes these camps are called combines but those aren't for learning as much as testing, for college or the pros. High school athletes participate in these camps to get scholarships. Combines are normally for athletes after college for the pros. Summer is the time for volunteer camps because high schools and colleges will start mandatory practice late summer.
