Photography in Rain
A photo shoot held in a studio can be scheduled anytime. However, the weather often determines whether or not an outdoor photo shoot can occur. Rain, heat, lack of sunlight can all effect scheduling of outdoor shoots.
Sometimes the weather forces a photo crew to cancel plans that were made well in advance. A model may be psyched about his shoot the next day, only to learn late at night or early in the morning that his shoot is cancelled. Even if it is not raining outsider, a shoot still can be cancelled if it is overcast outside. Regardless of how much work you have put into dieting, building muscle or developing that perfect tan, a shoot will not be of good quality if there is not enough sunlight shining on your skin. Unless a photographer is using artificial light, sunlight is needed to make you look tan and sexy. Without it, a model can look sickly and his muscles can look less defined.
If the shoot is canceled because of bad weather that day, a model can become very disappointed after psyching himself up. The crew must deal with the model's disappointment and attempt to schedule a shoot the next day.
Rain can delay or cancel outdoor photo shoots on a single day or prevent a photographer from holding shoots for an entire week. Since a photo crew cannot control weather when holding a photo shoot outdoors, they sometimes are forced to hurry through the shoot to avoid a approaching storm.
Remember, with outdoor shoots, nothing is guarantied.
