A photographer was planning a trip to Florida for an elaborate 11-day photo shoot and wanted to assure the trip ran smoothly. So, before departing, he planned a trial run at a nearby lake. The trial run was a photo shoot that lasted only a few hours.

Ironically, the photos created during the trial run were as good, if not better than the photos created on location in Florida. The trip to Florida was not needed!

Here are photos created during the trial run.

The shoot in Florida required transportation and hotels and a whole lot of extra time. The trial run was simpler, less expensive and did not require much valuable production time.

So, the photographer did not need to spend the extra time and money to travel to Florida.

Plus this shoot was for a calendar. By definition, a calendar organizer only has 365 days to create and sell the calendar. Each day added to recruiting models, holding shoots, and printing the calendar takes a day away from marketing and selling the product.

So, you can create excellent photos without spending a bunch of money to travel to exotic locales.
