Make Up for Male Models

If you will be a male model, here are the makeup techniques that might be used on your face:

Makeup used on male models should only subtly enhance features they already have and disguise blemishes and imperfections.

It is not wise to apply a lot of makeup or attempt to drastically change his face.

A stylist will disguise any pimples you have by adding a very small drop of concealer to a Q-tip and covering the red part of the pimple.

A stylist will add a little transluscent powder with a brush to even-out your skin tones.

Translucent powder takes away shine on skin and evens out your skintones.

Powder comes in several different shades. A stylist will choose a shade that matches your skin tone.

The stylist will dip the brush in the powder, then lightly tap the brush onto the side of the container. This makes excess powder fall off the brush. Very little powder should be on the brush when the stylist brushes it across your face.

A stylist may use a Q-tip to add Vaseline Lip Therapy to your lips to boost their natural color and encourage light to reflect off your lips.

Models add clear mascara to their eyelashes to help the camera "see" the lashes better. Clear mascara makes lashes appear thicker and makes eyes more noticable in photos.

If a model has thin eyebrows, a stylist can make their eyebrows seem fuller  by adding hair gel to the model's eyebrows. A stylist can make them appear bushy or straighten them using a comb.

Once the face is ready, some stylists apply body makeup to male models' bodies to cover tan lines on thighs or legs or make muscles appear more defined. Makeup can be used to enhance abs. Body makeup often requires a model to be totally nude for an hour or more.

Here is Denis joking about wearing body makup on his abs.
