What is a Video Challenge?
A Fan can challenge a Campus Man to create a video. Fans do this by creating a "Video Challenge," which is an idea for a video that is worth Popularity Points to a Campus Man if he makes the video. Think of it as receiving a instructions for a video.
The Fan can describe what she wants the Campus Man "to do on camera", what he should wear, where he should film the video and any props that should be included.
If a Campus Man likes her idea, he can upload a video to respond to her Challenge. He grabs a video camera, makes the video, and uploads it on the Challenge page. Then he earns a bunch of Popularity Points.
Video Challenges relieve the burden of thinking of ideas for videos. Other people can often be the judge of what looks good and sounds good - better than yourself. Fans give a Campus Man all the ideas he needs. All you need to do is follow the instructions!
Here is How Video Challenges Work:
- Fan clicks "Create a Video Challenge" on her profile page
- Fan selects who should appear in video and decides what the Campus Man should do in the video
- She can invite (up to 4) other Fans to collaborate on the idea.
- She saves the challenge for later or finalizes it.
- The Campus Man receives a "You Have Been Challenged" message and the Challenge appears in the "Unmet Video Challenges" section on his page.
- The Campus Man makes the video and uploads it on the Respond to Video Challenge Page
- The Campus Man earns the amount of Popularity Points the Challenge is worth at the time of upload.
More Fans Involved Increase Point Value:
A Campus Man should encourage Fans to collaborate with each other when creating Video Challenges. (The ideas will be better and the Campus Man earns more points if more Fans collaborate on the idea.)
The initial value of a Video Challenge is based on how many Fans collaborated on the challenge. A Video Challenge is worth 500 Popularity Points if one Fan made it alone, and is worth 100 more Popularity Points for each additional Fan who collaborated on the Video Challenge.
Example:
- 1 Fan edited the Video Challenge = The Challenge is worth 500 Points
- 4 Fans edited the Challenge = It is worth 800 Points
Video Challenges Worth Less Points Over Time:
The Campus Man wants to hurry once he receives a Video Challenge, because the Challenge is worth less and less Popularity Points each week... 100 Popularity Points is deducted from the value of a Video Challenge each week. You only earn the amount of Popularity Points the Challenge is worth on the day you respond.
Example:
If a Video Challenge is Worth 800 points at the start,
- It is worth 700 points one week after Challenge was created
- It is worth 100 points (minimum) 7 Weeks after the Challenge was created
So, get a move on and meet the Challenge!
