I enjoy reading muscle magazines, or other fitness magazines. I love competition: I have will power and dedication to the interests I pursue; including my passion for physical fitness. I like to look for my weaknesses and capitalize on them to achieve success. I love talking with people and hold a positive mental attitude toward situations I'm involved in. The combination of attributes I hold in my opinion, offers a very attractive feel others cannot provide.
I love to stay fit and active. Music is my other top interest. Most of the time, you'll find me listing to down-tempo beats, R&B or hip-hop. I love to play sports; my favorite is baseball. I received an All-State honorable mention my senior year in high school. My other interests include fly fishing (recently discovered), spending time in the sun- be it at the beach or elsewhere, being with my friends and family, and overall enjoying the life God has blessed me with.
Well this happened quite some time ago, but it really shaped who I am today. Back in the 7th grade, I desperately wanted to achieve the Presidential Physical Fitness Award to impress my co-athletes and become fit. In order to achieve this, I ran around in small circles in the basement of my house every night for around 45 minutes along with a light circuit training routine. A few months later I received the award and fell in love with physical fitness. Looking back at the situation, I don't know how I could stand running all those circles for a slip of paper and a badge.
As a whole, people recognize me as the guy who likes to stay in shape i think, but i also try to do my best in the classroom.
I train students whenever possible. I enjoy teaching other people some of the best movements in the gym and also outside of the gym, including eating habits and what not in order to reach their goals. I don't have a specific group of people i train per say, but whenever a friend or other person i meet in the gym needs some advise, i won't hesitate to help.
I'm a big believer in lifting partners because they help keep me motivated and help keep my goals in site..not to mention the other partner i'm working with as well. One of my lifting partners graduated last semester and moved to Des Moines so I'll be checking with some of my other buddies I see in the gym to see what thier class schedules look like; to see if one of them is willing to be a regular lifting partner.
I train at the gym right here on campus. It has everything i need at the right price compared to paying 30 bucks a month to workout off campus. It's a no-brainer if you ask me.
It's funny, people used to make fun of me for working out and running so much back when I was younger, but once they've seen what being in shape and having muscles can bring in your life-aside from the physical state- they began to be attracted to weight lifting and working out. It really does help you in other areas in your life, not just the physical body. It really releases tension from school work and everyday stress from your life.
