Steubenville native chosen for calendar
Steubenville - A Steubenville native was chosen from among 500 Ohio State University students to appear in the 1991 "Campus Men® of the Scarlet & Gray" calendar.
Pete Sinicropi, 23, is featured as Mr. January in the calendar distributed throughout the state.
Sinicropi's debut in the calendar has spurred a further career in modeling. He has signed with a modeling agency in Columbus. He also plans to pursue a graduate degree.
The calendar is one of two produced by OSU student Sean Ashbrook. Ashbrook, 23, said he started producing the calendars in May 1987, and this one has really taken off.
"This our most successful calendar yet. We've sold more during the first week out than we usually do during our first month," he said.
In addition to the male calendar, Ashbrook also produces a "Women of the Scarlet and Gray" calendar. Models featured in both calendars traveled to St. Petersburg, Fla., in July to have the photos taken.
Copies of the calendar can be purchased at area Waldenbooks stores for $7.95.
