What is a Video Blog?
A Video Blog (AKA vidblog or vlog) is personal online journal which uses short video clips. Students tell others what they think on a particular topic. You can also "review" something such as a product, new CD, movie, magazine article or something that is popular with others. A review is just your opinion of something. Video Bloggers basically share their thoughts with visitors to CampusMen.com They simply do in front of a camcorder, instead of writing down their opinions.
You can use a ficticious name in your video clips. You don't need to use your real name. However, when you use a pen name, you miss the chance to get hired by employers who are seeking students who know how to "video blog."
Length
Don't concentrate on length. Just choose a topic and make your video as long as they need to be to get the point across. Most videos are 3-4 minutes long, but there are no rules on length.
Quantity
For example, you make a video whenever you feel like it. (At least three per month.) (You make the videos, not Campus Men.)
What do I Talk About?
This is the important part. You need to be the kind of opinionated person who can think of your own topics independently. We help you with the nuts and bolts of making a video, but we want you to decide what to decide what you will "talk" about. Then you make a 3-4 minute video where you talk in front of your camcorder.
Do They Need to Be Slick or Professional?
No. We do not want pro videographers, just someone who can talk, and talk often and a lot. Video Blogs are designed to be unscripted and purposely "non-professional." Visitors to CampusMen.com give more validity to videos that are not slick or polished. A simple and inexpensive video camera cost as little as $99 (The Flip Video Camcorder). High quality video cameras cost around $250 (Sony Sony DCR-HC28).
We mail you a check for each video clip you make.
