How To Become A TV Show Host

I first learned of this unique class in Los Angeles from a friend, Jesse, who was chosen by MTV during Spring Break to host a segment that aired nationwide. The producers thought he did so well that he headed off to Hollywood and took a special one-session class called "Hollywood Hosting 101."

Well, Jesse is now surfing in Hawaii, but I had a chance to sit in on Hollywood Hosting and can say it is a very unique class that actors as well as broadcast journalism majors should consider taking.

The reason you should take the class is because you will learn secrets of how TV show hosts actually get hired.

For example, did you know that TV hosts are a big part of reality TV and reality TV is filling up most of the nightly network lineup? There are more reality TV shows being filmed presently than regular shows like CSI. Reality TV is cheap to produce and very popular with viewers. A lot of reality TV shows are being produced and each one needs at least one host to run the show and tell contestants, "The judges decision is final and you must leave the island, house, basement, whatever..."

I am not allowed to deluge trade secrets from the class, but let's say when Annie Roberts (who teaches Hollywood Hosting 101) teaches the class along with other industry professionals and I was quite surprised.

The class was not loaded with a huge amount of people like most seminars. This gave instructors time to answer special questions posed by the woman sitting next to me, who flew in from Chicago specifically for the class. (She had her luggage next to her chair and almost spilled my coffee.)

Hollywood Hosting 101 is the beginning class, held one per month in Hollywood and is followed up with Hollywood Hosting 102, which teaches more advanced techniques for working hosts.

If you are a student, Qualifying as a Campus Man is the perfect opportunity for a guy who wants to become an actor. It is your first step in getting the recognition you want. Building a fanbase of followers shows that you have something that other guys do not have.
